My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice. 

But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. Many people had no work. They lived a hard life. 

In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved. 

I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful

有谁不爱自己的家乡呢？有谁不说自己的家乡美呢？要问我的家乡在哪？当然是美丽的花炮瓷器之乡——湖南醴陵。现在就让我带你去走一走，瞧一瞧。

“渌江渌水绿悠悠”，这写的就是我家乡的一条大河——渌江河。它像一条长长的玉带，穿城而过。它一年四季都很美：春天，河里的水涨起来了，两岸的柳树都吐出了嫩芽，长长的绿辫在风中漫舞。夏天，树木更绿了，倒映到水中，河水更加碧绿。金色的阳光照在水中，微风拂过，波光粼粼。有时候，还有人在河岸钓鱼呢！秋天，树木开始落叶了，黄色的叶子随风飘落，它们漂在水面上，就像一只只彩色的小船，上面偶尔还会有小虫呢！冬天，树叶掉光了，但一场大雪过后，大地全变白了，树木也穿上了银装，河面上偶尔也会结上一层薄薄的冰。

在河上有一座长长的桥，叫西山大桥，桥面很宽，车辆川流不息。晚上，桥上的灯全亮了，把桥照得亮亮的，从远处看，就像一条美丽的彩虹架在河上，把渌江河妆扮得更加绚丽多彩。

穿过大桥，就可以到仙山公园游玩。这是一个风景秀丽的自然公园，里面树木郁郁葱葱，花儿争奇斗妍，小鸟在枝头欢快地歌唱。进入公园，往右拾级而上，可以看到高大的左权雕像。只见他手握望远镜，眺望前方。在雕像旁，就是大型的游乐场，这可是孩子们的乐园。每到节假日，许多孩子都会来这儿玩。出了游乐场，沿着大道往上走，一直走到半山腰，就到了长谊亭，它是为纪念日本瑞浪和醴陵结为友好城市而专门修建的。在这里，可以休息一下，然后再继续往上走，到达山顶。在山顶有一个高高的亭子叫神怡楼，站在亭子顶层，感觉格外的心旷神怡，美丽的醴陵城也尽收眼底。从神怡楼下来，再往下走一点，靠右边就是著名的花炮祖师李畋的大殿。在这里，可以了解到整个花炮生产和制作的全过程，同时还可以欣赏到各种各样的花炮。
